Simplicity Makes You Bigger

Simplicity makes you taller

It makes you think of a song by Vetusta Morla. What makes you taller may not be hard to see. Everything we are is right there, because simplicity doesn’t have to stand out to be unique. In fact, when we talk about a simple person or attitude, we are referring to someone who is true to their essence and not looking to show something different.

“There are a few encounters in life where truth and simplicity are the best ride in the world. ”

-Jean de la Bruyère-

Before continuing, it should be understood that in this simple case  is not synonymous with an easy or affable personality but real and natural. That is, someone who moves with the quality of being simple does so with transparent and pure behavior.

Hiding under a shell isn’t doing you a favor

As we mentioned,  simplicity makes us taller because it shows us as we are, without makeup,  because it is the most effective way to reflect what we are unconsciously hiding in the body. bottom of us. However, we have a habit of avoiding it, and we complicate the process by which others get to know us.

Is it not true that you have several times concealed one of your personality traits for fear of being known? Why do we do it if deep down, the natural strengthens relationships? This is likely to happen because we believe that exposing ourselves emotionally makes us vulnerable.

“Let go of fears and punishments,

because life can be even more alive.

By getting rid of all that is hiding

because the skin already tells us everything. “

-Fran Mariscal and Kutxi Romero, song “Vuelen de una vez” –

However, nothing is further from the truth. Being transparent does not make us fragile or weak, even if that is what it may seem from the outside. Letting ourselves be known with humility and truth will help us eliminate the secondary aspects that hinder our contacts.

And, on the other hand,  accepting what we strongly believe will give us security and more esteem. So, hiding or disguising ourselves are poisonous gifts for ourselves.

When we make things difficult

On the other hand, it is not only a matter of showing oneself without adornments and lies but also of acting without more complications than necessary. We know that the energies on which we can rely are limited and, despite this, we persist in wasting them. It is as if we have an incorrigible tendency to complicate things so that they cost us twice as much, instead of acting with simplicity and spontaneity.

Clearly we are not doing it on purpose, but we are doing it. We waste time and put in more effort than is necessary in everyday situations that require naturalness. Why ? The answer is likely to be the social idea that anything of value requires a lot of sacrifice.

“There is no reason to look for complications. If you hear the sound of a gallop, look for horses, not zebras. ”

-Lee Child-

Some people believe that the most beautiful diamonds always come after a path strewn with stones. However, reality shows that there is no reason for this to happen. For example, in some cases the exit from a maze that our eyes apparently cannot see is closer than we think.

Once we get to this point, it would be good to remember that yes, we do have some tough times and struggle to get out of them, but not all good things come along a complicated path. In other words,  it is not necessary to suffer to be happy, even if we have to go through painful circumstances at the cost of a lot of effort.

To find simplicity, you have to close your eyes and open your heart

We started this article with an idea, and we will end it with the same: it is beneficial to opt for the path of simplicity, both for the personality and for the way of living things.

To achieve this, you just need to close your eyes a little every now and then and open your heart. This is what the Little Prince said and this is what Murakami says:  it is necessary to see beyond the surface area, which so often misleads us. Transcend appearance and reach people’s hearts.

“The simplest things may be the hardest to see.

Sometimes it takes a long time to see what is in front of our eyes. “

-Murakami-

By doing this, we will see that our life is much lighter and that the people we get to know to share it are not leaving. Genuine people unite with each other and discover, beyond reality, a world of affection and honesty  with which to resolve any situation that seems difficult.
