Depression, Sickness Of The Soul

Depression, a disease of the soul

“One of the bitterness of depression is that it erases any idea or feeling of hope”

Juan Antonio Vallejo Nájera

Nothing has meaning in my life anymore, nothing interests me or surprises me, I feel empty … Loneliness has taken hold of my body and my mind, and I no longer have any illusions, this that I loved and made me happy before does not make me happier today: reading, listening to music, making love, traveling, struggling every day in the context of my work …

Sometimes I sleep too much, other times I go whole nights without sleep. I don’t want to see anyone, I don’t want to talk to anyone, I can’t stand anyone anymore, not even myself … and even if I don’t have the courage to take my life, sometimes I say to myself, as long as I close my eyes and never wake up.

I often feel like I’m drowning in pain, and I cry over and over again telling myself that my life is not worth it, wondering what I’m doing here. I have failed at work, I have failed hundreds of times in love, no one is there to give me confidence, and for me this life is not worth it …

It is the sincere words of actor Willy Toledo that made us want to write this article. Not long ago, he did a TV show about depression, an illness he suffered from but luckily overcame.

Anyone suffering or having suffered from depression could have read his testimony.
